I’m from New York
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There’s nothing you can’t do
Now you’re in New York
These street will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Hear it for New York, New York, New York

One hand in the air for the big city,
Big lights, big dreams all looking pretty
No place in the world that can compare
Everybody put your lighters in the air and say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I’m from New York
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There’s nothing you can’t do
Now you’re in New York
These street will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you

New York
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There’s nothing you can’t do
Now you’re in New York
These street will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Hear it for New York, New York, New York

Greyson has never officially released a studio version of his cover of “Empire State of Mind”.

History

“Empire State of Mind” was first released by Jay-Z as a single from his album The Blueprint 3 (2009) in October 2009 and featured Alicia Keys. Alicia Keys later recorded a sequel to the song called “Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down” which she released on her album The Element of Freedom (2009) and from which Greyson’s version seems most inspired. Greyson took his first trip to New York following his signing to Geffen Records. He has expressed his love of the city in numerous interviews and as a tribute covered this song.
